Urban + Intimate: A Stunning Rooftop Engagement Session

When you’re planning engagement photos, the first thing you start thinking of is “engagement photo locations,” right?! … Well, maybe your outfit is the first thing on your mind, but really, the location of the session itself can inspire the outfit(s) … and it can sometimes be a little tricky to figure out where to take your photos if rolling in the grass or climbing mountains outdoors isn’t your vibe.

For any brides-to-be scouting for an urban engagement session, I hope you consider this — a rooftop! Kacee and Ryan wanted urban and intimate, and this location was the PERFECT way to embrace their love story — a love story that should be shouted from the rooftops, literally.

What’s Not to Love About City Engagement Photos?

The natural juxtaposition of it all — feeling like the only two people in the world with the city right behind you — that sums up love right there. Everything else fades into the background except the love of your life.

Let the Buildings Be Your Backdrop

Keeping the outfits neutral, the couple kept themselves the focal point even with a breathtaking backdrop filled with skyscrapers!

Cozy Up Together

Do you and your other half typically snuggle up on the couch on Friday nights?? Use it in your engagement photos!! Especially when there’s a soft, leather sofa with a brick accent wall behind you … Kacee and Ryan + the industrial aesthetic = chic, warm and cozy.

I absolutely love when my sessions are somewhere new, and what a great spot to enjoy with these two! I cannot wait to photograph your wedding in October!! xo, Betty
