How to Choose a Wedding Photographer — here’s what to look for!
You said, “Yes!” CONGRATULATIONS!!
After some time celebrating your engagement, you buckle down because it’s time to plan the wedding details! So exciting! And, naturally, a little overwhelming too.
Sitting at your computer, eagerly searching “local wedding photographers,” “wedding photographers nearby,” … or, maybe even … “best wedding photographers in Iowa” or “best wedding photographer in the Midwest” … you’re scrolling through the swoonworthy photos and planning what you’ll look like in your dress (no doubt, GORGEOUS), and now you have the tough task of how in the world to actually pick the photographer that you want to capture your big day!?
Choose a Photographer That You Totally Vibe With!
Why are good vibes with your photographer important?
Because your photographer is going to be with you every step of your wedding day capturing each special moment! You don’t want to feel closed off or uncomfortable as they follow you around for 8 hours — yikes, and really, who needs more stress on their wedding day?! — you’d see discomfort instead of authentic, joyful moments (which is ALWAYS my main goal) in all the images!
If you feel like you have one of your bestest friends celebrating your happiness with you, then you’ll trust your photographer to support you, guide you, and get the perfect shot!!
That makes all the difference.
They’ll understand what you want to capture (plus all the carefully planned details and raw moments that make your wedding day so so beautiful), and it’ll make taking pictures (including those posed shots) effortless because you’re comfortable around the person behind the lens. Your real emotions and personality, fun-loving and sentimental moments — it can all flow and shine through naturally!!
Here are Three Tips to Help You Choose Your Photographer for Your Wedding Day:
Check out their photos. Scope out everything from their social media pages to reviews to their website. Make sure that their style is your style!
Set-up a video chat to get to know each other better and ask all your questions. It should feel so natural and enjoyable!
Set up your engagement shoot. Having a session with one another, and getting to spend time with each other before the big day allows you to get to know one another better, and really get a feel for how well you would vibe on your wedding day!
If you want to see if we would be a good fit together, I’d love to connect with you!! I’m a gal who LOVES love, so please, don’t spare any details!
